Portal 2

Portal 2 draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music that earned the original Portal over 70 industry accolades and created a cult following.

The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game.

The game’s two-player cooperative mode features its own entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers, and two new player characters. This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively, but to think cooperatively.

So, are you guys planning to purchase it? I know I am! :)

Another Black Ops Map Pack, Coming May 3rd.

The launch details for the second Call of Duty Black Ops map pack may have been leaked, thanks to a retailer error. Call of Duty Black Ops Escalation is scheduled to arrive on May 3, according to VG247.
Australian retailer GAME accidentally leaked information about the second map pack on its web site and then pulled it. As proven by sales of previous Call of Duty map packs, the launch of this kind of downloadable content is as huge as a new blockbuster game on the consoles.
The new map pack will have five maps entitled Zoo, Hotel, Convoy, Stockpile, and the zombie map Survive. The price wasn’t listed, but previous map pack First Strike was sold on Xbox Live for 1200 Microsoft Points, or $15. We are checking with Activision Blizzard for comment. (See the smack talk from EA’s chief executive about Call of Duty).
Call of Duty Black Ops is one of the best-selling video games of all time, with sales of more than $1 billion since the launch in November. Activision Blizzard previously launched its First Strike map pack in February.
As we noted before, if video games are the new Hollywood, map packs and downloadable content are smart ways to satisfy the insatiable thirst that some gamers have for sequels. Instead of coming years later, though, these downloadable expansions to existing games keep players addicted to a recently released title.
Activision Blizzard said some time ago that it had sold more than 20 million Call of Duty map packs, generating more than $300 million in sales. So it’s clear that map packs are a big business, and video game publishers may want to avoid publishing rival games on May 3, since gamers will be a little busy.

Homefront: Freezes your Xbox?! Patch inbound!

Homefront has been out a little over a week now, and some gamers have had their share of negative experiences with THQ’s patriotic shooter. Since release, Kaos Studios has been hard at work on fixing these issues so that gamers all over can finally get to enjoying the game that they hyped so much.
Homefront‘s first week on the shelves was filled with news both good an bad. First came the reports that THQs stock had taken a massive 20% dive during the first day of the game’s release, a sudden dip attributed to the relatively poor reviews that the game had garnished from media outlets. Our own Homefront review scored the game a 3.5/5, a respectable score for the first game in a new IP.

Surprisingly, this did not deter THQ from reporting rather positive news in the days that followed. Shortly after news started to circulate that THQ’s stock was in trouble, THQ was pleased to announce that in its first day on the shelves, Homefront had sold 375,000 copies of the game. Today, THQ sent another press release with updated sales figures, indicating that Homefront has now sold through 1 million units around the world, from shipping 2.4 million units to date.
Meanwhile, reports have been circulating that a number of players are having trouble with the game freezing on the PS3 and Xbox 360, with a small group of Xbox 360 owners reporting that their copy of the game would not even load to the main menu. This prompted Kaos Studios, Homefront’s developer, to announce that they were working on a number of patches to be released for the console versions of the game as well as the PC version.
The patch news doesn’t stop there as Kaos has revealed that they’ve submitted patches for review to Sony and Microsoft, and they hope to get them live to players as soon as possible. A number of details regarding what the patches will entail have also been released and are included below.

Sledgehammer, Raven, IW All Working On MW3 Together

Prepare to be confused.

'deep breath'

Okay, so we've heard Infinity Ward is likely cranking on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Despite the mass exodus the studio suffered after the Vince Zampella/Jason West fiasco, Activision apparently restaffed IW in record time. Then there was the rumor that Sledgehammer Games, a designer owned by Activision, was working on another Call of Duty installment. It was initially purported to be an action/adventure game but was later emended to hold the more expected first-person shooter label. Finally, there was the rumor that Raven (WolfensteinSingularity) was working on something CoD-related. Now, we've got what is supposed to be a clarification from the LA Times.
It seems both Sledgehammer and Raven are assisting Infinity Ward in development of Modern Warfare 3. However, Sledgehammer is indeed working on their own CoD spin-off, which is supposed to sport a sci-fi theme of some kind. Sledgehammer appears to be working with IW on the single-player mode of MW3 while Raven is handling development of the multiplayer aspect. There. Does that clear everything up?

Call of Duty: Black Ops: NEW MAP PACK!

Hey guys, downloaded the new map pack a while ago, and I really enjoy it. I think my favorite part is zombies. I never really liked the default zombies maps in Black Ops, so this new one is a great bonus for me. The multiplayer maps are enjoyable, but I am not playing the multiplayer much due to zombies, and Dead Space 2! So, what do you guys think of the new map pack?

So It Begins!
